About this Blog

Christian by Practice is a blog arising out of a conviction that the contemporary mode of Christianity in America has radically diverged from the discipleship of Jesus found in the Gospels and among early Christians. With sympathy I acknowledge that it is difficult for many to see such divergences or to consider alternative forms of Christianity.

My goal for this blog is to be a resource that will provide clarity as to the practice of being contemporary followers of Jesus as individuals and communities. Posts will consist of reflections on biblical texts, theological concepts, Christian practices, and notable persons who can help illumine our way as contemporary followers of Jesus.

I welcome discussion and engagement and hope this will be a catalyst for reformation of Christian practice.
